The Business Development Representative plays a vital role in the growth and success of our company. This position proactively reaches out to potential customers and builds up interest in our products and services by positioning and demonstrating our K-12 products & services that align with customer needs. This position focuses on external outreach, prospecting, and lead qualification, connecting with as many leads as possible, learning about their needs, and introducing them to their account executive. The position would be focused on a defined region or vertical and would be required to gain and share expertise about the K12 environment for their territory.

Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, reporting to the Inside Sales Director.

Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $23.34 and $25.00 per hour. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

Location: In this US-based position your location will be hybrid in our office in Austin, TX.

Envision Your Experience.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Utilize company defined prospecting and lead qualification process.
  • Work with the Field Regional Executive Sales Director on strategic campaign calling.
  • Drive attendance for company events to both current and potential customers.
  • Research prospective schools, schedule appointments, and record information.
  • Meet or exceed all activity and quality metrics.
  • Record activities in the sales database.
  • Quickly gain and maintain a strong understanding of company products and services.
  • Build a rapport with potential customers and create a comfortable environment that will encourage open and active conversation.
  • Frequently and independently engage with the customer in all opportunity sales stages including the final negotiations prior to purchase.
  • Identify potential customers and appropriate contacts to qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline.
  • Explain the features and benefits of company products and services to prospective and current customers.
  • Own the development and management of assigned customer relationships in a manner consistent with company policies and the highest standards of business ethics.
  • Other duties as required.

Share Your Expertise.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Education or related field or 3+ years’ Sales experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Teaching or school administrator experience a plus.
  • Experience with selling solutions into K-12 education market is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in an open sales office environment.
  • Positive, friendly, and professional attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail orientated with the ability to work in a high paced environment managing shifting workloads and multiple priorities
  • Thrive in a collaborative team environment that ensures customer success.
  • Self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook in a Microsoft Windows environment
