ADVANCED ACADEMICS: Connections Education, a virtual K-12 school operator owned by Pearson that serves over 100,000 students, has acquired the education products and service assets of Advanced Academics (AAI), an online learning provider that serves over 83,000 students in grades 6-12 at over 170 school districts and charter schools. Financial terms were not disclosed; more details in the press release. AAI was founded in 2000 and since 2007 has been a part of DeVry Education Group, a large publicly-listed educational business in the U.S.
