PACIFIC METRICS: ACT, the non-profit behind the standardized test, has acquired Monterey, CA-based Pacific Metrics Corporation, an online assessment provider. Founded in 2000, Pacific Metrics offers products and services in online testing, automated essay scoring, psychometric research, and content development. It has delivered statewide online assessments since 2006. The release did not share financial details but did note that Pacific Metrics will "remain a separate, stand-alone company."
