AMAZONIAN EDUCATORS: DIY teachers can now move beyond finding textbook alternatives online. On January 22, Amazon announced Kindle Textbook Creator, enabling teachers to turn PDFs of course material into Kindle books “while keeping their rights and maintaining control of their content,” according to Amazon. Students can then access the books on Fire tablets, iPads, iPhones, Android phones and tablets, Mac and PC. Readers also will be able to highlight text in the PDF textbooks, as well as use notebook, flashcard and dictionary features. Educators can try out Kindle Textbook Creator beta here.
