HOW MUCH IS YOUR SCHOOL SPENDING? The latest MDR research shows that “U.S. K-12 public schools increased instructional spending by a remarkable 9% in the 2013-2014 school year.” This additional $964 million bumps overall spending for all instructional materials to $11.8 billion, and marks the first time in over half a decade that spending went up over the previous year.
MDR also breaks this total figure down to $244 per student, and looks at which states are spending more or less than this national average. Did you know, for instance, that Montana and North Dakota spend more per student, on average, than California?
