RTTT APPLICANTS ANNOUNCED: The U.S. Department of Education announced that it has received 371 applications--covering 1,189 districts--for the Race to the Top-District Competition. (Here's the list of all of them.) The anticipated 15 to 25 recipients of the $400 million in grants up for grabs will be announced by the end of the year. With the competition listing "Personalized Learning Environments" as "Absolute Priority 1," we're certainly keeping an eye on the kinds of programs the department finds most fitting.
