TESTIVE: $500K seed round to Cambridge, MA-based Testive from a choir of Boston angels, including Jean Hammond (early investor in ZipCar and Pixability), Eileen Rudden (LearnLaunch co-founder), Dharmesh Shah (Hubspot co-founder), and Bill Warner (Avid founder). (Gory details in this press release). That puts Testive in the cozy spot of having support from investors in the two emerging Boston area edtech accelerators. As it name implies, the startup is focused on the test prep space, and claims that its TurboTest platform, developed at MIT, can accurately predict scores on SATs and other standardized tests in under an hour, or about three times faster than traditional practice tests. Over 10,000 students have used Testive, according to this 2012 TechStars Boston graduate. Where Testive is headed: helping prepare students to take these tests. Here's the beta of its SAT test prep tool, the SATHabit.
