WIGGIO: Acquired by Ontario, Canada-based Desire2Learn, its second acquisition since raising an $80 million Series A back in September 2012. Boston-based Wiggio provides an online group collaboration tool that first launched in 2008 and has been used by everyone including college students, yoga instructors, and Tolkien fan party event planners. Terms of the deal were undisclosed. Desire2Learn appears to be on an acquisition roll, having also bought Degree Compass back in late January. TechCrunch reports that this move is further sign of Desire2Learn's expansion into the U.S.--including a rumored "eventual IPO."
