LET'S GO SHOPPING: At the Google I/O conference today, the company announced a Play for Education program, an app store that allows teachers to search for apps by grade level and subject matter, and check out reviews from other teachers. It'll certainly help in navigating and weeding the 20+ pages of "education" apps currently available in its Play Store. Moreover, the program promises to serve as a content management platform that allows teachers to deploy books, apps, and YouTube videos to students' tablets or other Google-supported devices in the classroom. It's set to roll out this fall, in time for the school year. Developers can get started here.
