VITAMIN C: Last week, KQED MindShift wrapped up a four-part series on how tablet computers can create meaningful connections for students and teachers. Each of the four parts cover what EdTechTeachers Justin Reich and Beth Holland refer to as the four C’s of tablet usage--Consumption, Curation, Creation, and Connection. In their final “Someday/Monday” post of the series, the two focused on the “connection” aspect of tablets, or putting students in contact with learners of all ages from around the world. They chronicle teacher Kristen Wideen’s experiences in the classroom and her students’ experiences in using tablet tools to interact with a broader audience.
