ADRENNA: Acquired for an undisclosed sum by Gilfus Venture Partners, whose Chairman and CEO, Stephen Gilfus, co-founded CourseInfo, which later merged with Blackboard LLC to create Blackboard Inc. He is also President and CEO of Gilfus Education Group, a consulting firm advises schools on strategy and implementation for education technologies. Founded in 2004, Atlanta, GA-based Adrenna offers an open-source learning management system for K-12 and higher-ed institutions, along with businesses and government agencies. Washington Business Journal says it's "part of an ambitious plan to rival...powerhouses like Blackboard, Desire2Learn and Instructure."
