MAJESTIC MOOC: On November 7, Jordanian Queen Rania Al Abdullah announced the launch of Edraak, an Arabic-language MOOC portal developed on the open edX platform. VentureBeat estimates her foundation will spend around $10 million to fund the development and expansion of the platform across the Middle East. This is the latest in a series of announcements by both edX and Coursera to bring their MOOCs overseas to regions like China and Europe.
