AMAZON REWARDS CLUB: Tiger Woods' father let him play games golf only after he finished his homework. The latest update to Amazon's Kindle FreeTime subscription service has the same idea. As first reported by Geekwire, the new "Learn First" feature on Kindle Fire HD and HDX tablets allows parents to block kids from accessing entertainment apps until they've spent a certain amount of time on educational apps like BrainPOP Jr. Amazon has taken a relatively low-key approach in the education tablet market, especially when compared to the splashy headlines made by Apple and Amplify. But this update and aggressive push to offer more content (it also recently acquired TenMarks) will have its competitors--and many schools--taking note.
