VentureBeat announced the launch of its "Education Technology channel" with support from Apollo Lightspeed, a division within Apollo Education Group. (It also proclaims itself to be "the first major technology news organization to dedicate a channel to how technology is transforming the global education market." Hmm.) A day earlier, NPR received $17 million in grants from four big foundations (Knight, Gates, Wallace and Ford) and other individuals to support "a significant expansion" of coverage of big issues like education, global health and development, and race, ethnicity and culture.
