IT’S OFFICIAL: This week Pearson officially landed the contract to administer Common Core exams for the PARCC consortium of states. The company was the only bidder for the project, which include responsibilities such as developing test items, delivering both pencil-and-paper and computerized tests, reporting results, and analysis of scores. While the size of the contract has yet to be determined (based on how many states actually participate), Pearson has dropped it’s estimated price per student from $29.50 to $24. Pearson is also one of the providers participating in this year’s field tests. EdWeek has more.
