COMMON PAIN: Back in September of 2013, more than three-fourths of a group of 1,200 polled educators supported Common Core Standards "wholeheartedly" or with some minor reservations, according to a National Education Association member survey. But last week when EdWeek asked “Do Teachers Really Hate Common Core?”, the article provoked some deep frustration. Of the more than 40 comments, 72% expressed frustration and disagreement with the CCSS. A few snags with the pilot exams scored some of the blame; overall, EdWeek reports that the rollout “[is] not the nightmare” many had expected. Where are you on the spectrum of Common Core support?
