San Jose State University (home of the Spartans) caught some flak from the local newspaper for its $28 million "Next Generation Technology Project," which was supposed to deck the lecture halls with many devices and services from Cisco--one of the university's biggest donors. But missing equipment, backdoor dealings, a too-cozy-for-comfort relationship between Cisco and SJSU's president, and the fact that $9 million of the spending comes from student fees has the San Jose Mercury News suggesting shady play involved.
