RELIAS LEARNING: International media company Bertelsmann is acquiring adult online learning provider Relias Learning from Vista Equity Partners for an amount “in the mid-hundreds of millions (USD).” Born from the merger of Essential Learning and Silverchair Learning Systems in 2012, Relias Learning offers an LMS and online training for employees in industries including behavioral health and care for the disabled. Relias Learning reports that individuals complete over 20 million of its courses each year, according to Bertelsmann’s press release. Bertelsmann acquired a stake in Udacity’s Series C financing in September, and announced a $43 million Brazilian edtech fund in March.
