GOING DEEPER AND DEEPER: Following its recent Educator and Workforce Micro-credentials Summit on January 30, nonprofit Digital Promise today released a report entitled "Developing a System of Micro-credentials: Supporting Deeper Learning in the Classroom." Aligned to the Deeper Learning framework by Hewlett, the report covers 40 Digital Promise-developed micro-credentials that touch upon 6 main student skills, from mastering core academic content to effective communication. Teachers can use the report as a guide for understanding how to instruct their students according to Hewlett's Deeper Learning framework.
While not to be confused with other "deeper learning" frameworks, such as those developed by Harvard professor Chris Dede and other academics, Digital Promise CEO Karen Cator does share that likely Chris Dede’s deeper learning framework was also supported by the Hewlett framework.
