KANO: $15 million to London, UK-based Kano in a Series A round led by Jim Breyer of Breyer Capital. Collaborative Fund and Jim O’Neill also participated. Since 2014, Kano has offered over 40,000 computer kits for Raspberry Pi to help kids learn how to code, according to TechCrunch. After a successful crowdfunding campaign of $1.5 million on Kickstarter in 2013, Kano is also crowdfunding on the Quire platform. With the funding, Kano plans to create more software content for its operating system, to develop add-on hardware kits, and to expand its not-for-profit Kano Academy.
