OAKLAND ONLINE: Oakland students, take note: Need a computer? Internet access? A little hustle will get it for you. Here’s how: This summer, 73,000 students from about 1,600 Bay Area schools took part in a math challenge devised by Khan Academy called LearnStorm. Some 13.6 million math problems later, Sal Khan declared these kids truly had “hustle.” The reward? Comcast will give the family of any student in Oakland free Internet for six months (if the family doesn’t have a relationship with Comcast already.) Sign up by Sept. 2, and Comcast will throw in a free laptop. Details here.
