FRONTER, a learning management system founded in Oslo in 1998 and acquired by Pearson a decade later, is returning back to Norwegian hands. The global publisher has sold Fronter to itslearning, a Bergen-based company that currently claims over four million active users for its own learning management system. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The press release claims “the combined company is now the largest provider of learning management systems in Europe.” itslearning also serves a number of US K-12 districts including Forsyth County Schools in Georgia.
