LEARNED AND LAUNCHED: Boston’s edtech accelerator, LearnLaunch has graduated the next flock of startups from its fourth class. The seven startups that presented to more than 200 investors and education leaders at LearnLaunch’s Demo Day include:
- Affordable College, which helps community college students plot a path to get affordable bachelor’s degrees;
- Babl’ Books, which leverages crowdsourced translations and offers print-on-demand features to make bilingual books available around the world;
- Cashtivity, a platform that learning math through real-world challenges;
- Learning Games Studio, a developer of educational games for under-skilled adult learners;
- Menlo Learn, which facilitates the application process for undergraduate and business school students;
- Skookii, an online tuition platform, and;
- TeachersConnect, a professional development platform for educators
On the same day, LearnLaunch also announced a partnership with McGraw-Hill Education, which will be “providing guidance and financial support to LearnLaunch.” The publisher will offer mentoring and support to LearnLaunch entrepreneurs. Details about the extent of the financial support were not disclosed, but McGraw-Hill is a sponsor of LearnLaunch’s upcoming annual conference, held this year on January 21-22.
