TAL EDUCATION GROUP, a Beijing-based purveyor of after-school tutoring, has invested an undisclosed amount in adaptive learning provider Knewton. The investment comes with a letter of intent to integrate Knewton's adaptive learning engine into TAL's online tutoring platform. The Chinese company plans to develop proprietary digital content and use Knewton's adaptive learning tools to customize students' experiences. TAL joins Belgian investing group Sofina in Knewton's latest round of funding.
