Zuckerberg, Powell Jobs Invest $6.4M in Ellevation to Help ELL Students

ELLEVATION EDUCATION: $6.4 million to Boston, MA-based Ellevation Education in a Series A round led by Emerson Collective, the education venture fund headed by Laurene Powell Jobs. Other investors include Zuckerberg Education Ventures (which announced it contributed $1.5 million in a Facebook post) and the Omidyar Network. Founded in 2011, Ellevation offers data, instructional and professional development tools used in more than 450 school districts to help teachers measure and support English language learners.
