SCHOOLD: San Francisco-based Schoold has closed a $4.5 million seed round from accelerator FastForward and private investors such as Lorne Abony. Schoold, a free college and career planning app, pulls data about colleges and presents metrics such as graduation rates and salary projections, differentiated by major, in the app. The app has been downloaded over 500,000 times since its release in late February. Funds raised in the seed round will be used to introduce new functionality to the Schoold app and to grow the company’s engineering and marketing teams, according to the press release. The company is led by CEO and founder Sourabh Ahuja and President and COO Joe E. Ross, founder of ParentLeaf and former VP at Citizen Schools.
