Last year our team produced a free K-12 edtech conference map—and received an overwhelmingly positive response along with requests for a higher-ed version.
So for you, dear readers, we are pleased to share our 40-plus picks of higher-ed edtech & innovation conferences you need to know—for educators, entrepreneurs and executives—chosen in consultation with some of our guest contributors and other conference-trotting stars. In addition to the graphic below, the full poster includes dates, locations, brief descriptions of why or for whom each conference might be valuable as well as clickable names linking to a relevant website.
And if you want to stay informed about higher-ed tech and innovation, consider subscribing to our free weekly newsletter, EdSurge Next.

Gold, red, orange, blue: What do these colors mean?
Of course, anyone can attend any conference. However, we've designated the primary audience for these events: Blue events are built around educators, but some of these events involve exhibitor halls. Red events emphasize the business of edtech more than pedagogy. Orange events are more tightly focused around a topic or specific audience, such as libraries or community colleges. Gold events are usually oriented a specific product or company.
Your link took me to a conference that already happened or doesn’t exist yet. What gives?
Don’t worry - we confirmed with conference organizers all dates for future events that weren't yet listed on their site.
Aw, you left out my favorite event!
Sorry about that! Feel free to add a comment on this piece with details about the event you like the best, or shoot us an email at feedback@edsurge.com.
Will you update this presentation in the future?
If enough folks find this a handy chart, we'd be happy to do an update toward the end of the year. Just let us know!
