THE LATEST INTEL: The second cohort of startups in Intel Education Accelerator program has been announced. The seven U.S. teams hail from Honolulu to Boston; the U.K. is also represented by SAM Labs, based in London. Over the next four months the teams will refine their product and business with the help of mentors and up to $100,000 in investment capital. More details from Intel’s blog. - FlashGrade: using the web and mobile device to help teachers create, print and grade tests
- HSTRY: interactive timelines to teach history (also participated in LearnLaunchX Accelerator)
- Immersed Games: online 3D world to engage students in STEM learning
- KiraKira: online community for girls to learn engineering
- Learnmetrics: data dashboard to help educators better understand what’s happening
- PrepFlash: study aid creation tool
- SAM Labs: toys that teach programming
