UNICAF, an online university degree company, today announced it has received a combined $12 million from investors University Ventures, CDC Group and Savannah Fund, an early stage venture capital firm based in Nairobi, Kenya. Founded in 2012, UNICAF seeks to make quality higher education and university degrees more affordable for working professionals in Africa. According to a press release, the new funding will be used to support UNICAF’s learning centers across African cities and finalize its university campus in Malawi.

Based in London, UNICAF has partners with western universities like the University of South Wales and Marymount California University, and also offers locally accredited degrees. Today, 8,000 students are enrolled with UNICAF, and the company expects to expand to more than 60,000 students by the end of 2020.
