LMS IN TRANSLATION: A new analysis from e-Literate illustrates the size and breakdown of the European market for learning management systems—or virtual learning environments, as they say across the pond—in higher education. Earlier this year e-Literate published an analysis of LMS usage in the U.S. and Canada. But the market is increasingly global, the new report notes. “Maintaining a US/Canadian view without additional data can be misleading when forecasting the roadmaps and future states of various LMS solutions.”
On both continents, Canvas is gaining adoption. Blackboard still holds ground in North America, while Moodle is more popular among the 13 European countries included in the report. E-Literate says it will be gathering additional data about the size and trends in the European LMS market over the coming months.
