BOSTON BONUS: Five companies are ringing in the new year with seed money and industry mentorship, courtesy of LearnLaunch Accelerator. The Boston-based program announced the first cohort of its second fund, which offers up to $120K to each of the five participating startups. They are:
- CareAcademy (based in Cambridge, Mass.), which offers online classes for in-home caregivers;
- CourseStorm (Orono, Maine), which helps organizations publish their courses online and facilitates the registration process;
- Kaymbu (Cambridge, Mass.), developer of an app that keeps schools, students and families engaged and connected;
- Quality Interactions (Cambridge, Mass.) which offers online cultural competency courses for healthcare providers;
- WriteSteps (Grandville, Mich.), a tool that aims to help K-5 students improve their writing and grammar skills.
