INTERFOLIO, a workflow product used by higher-ed institutions to hire and manage faculty, has acquired faculty-activity reporting tool DATA180. According to the press release, the move will create a single platform for higher-ed faculty data, and “bring attention to ‘faculty tech’ that will spur growth and long-term investment in the category.”
Company transitions are expected to be completed mid-2017. DATA180’s CEO L.K. Williams will be taking the role of vice president of academic engagement at Interfolio and CIO/CTO Scott Wymer will be vice president of academic technology.
“Faculty, a critical and fundamental part of the academic ecosystem, has not been the focus of most edtech innovation and as a result many critical functions still rely on legacy-based manual processes that have not changed for decades,” Andrew Rosen, CEO of Interfolio, said in the prepared statement. “[The combined services] will allow faculty more time to teach, engage students and conduct research.”
