TENKA LABS, a San Francisco-based “smart toy” company, announced today it has secured $2.1 million in seed funding. Details about the private investors were undisclosed. A Tenka Labs spokesperson says the money will go towards expanding the company’s infrastructure, growing its staff and further developing and increasing production for Tenka Labs’ newest gadget: Circuit Cubes.
Designed for kids K-6, Circuit Cubes are LEGO-compatible and and magnetically snap together to add sound, movement and other sensors to projects, while teaching the basics of how electric circuits work. Circuit Cubes kits run for $59.95 and are now available for pre-order.
