ZULAMA, a Pittsburgh-based company that offers a game design curriculum to teach a variety of subjects including art, design, programming and storytelling, has been acquired by EMC School, a language-learning unit of New Mountain Learning. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2009 and built on research done at Carnegie Mellon University, Zulama had raised just over $1 million in venture funding, according to Crunchbase. Zulama’s courses and tools will now be a part of EMC’s computer literacy line of offerings. More details from the press release.
