Holberton School Nabs $8.2M To Expand San Francisco-based Coding Bootcamps

Apr 10, 2018

CODING BOOST: San Francisco-based computer science and software engineering program Holberton School has raised $8.2 million in a Series A investment round led by daphni and Trinity Ventures, as well a new investor for the company, Omidyar Network. Holberton previously raised $4.8 in a seed round from AME Cloud Ventures, Partech and Reach Capital, all of which also invested in the latest round, bringing the bootcamp’s total funding to $13 million.

Founded in 2016, Holberton claims to have reached 200 students and will use the added funds to further the school’s expansion, according to a company announcement. Like a handful of other coding education providers today, Holberton does not require students to pay an up-front tuition, but offers an income-share agreement financing model where students instead pay back a percentage of the salary after graduating the program and landing a job.
