A BOOST FOR KAHOOT: Kahoot, an educational gaming and trivia platform, announced Wednesday that it has raised $15 million in a funding round led by Datum Invest AS. The raise comes seven months after a funding round in March that brought in $17 million.
The Norwegian startup is best known for its game-based quizzes and claims 70 million monthly active users and a presence in almost half of U.S. K-12 schools. Since its launch in 2012, Kahoot has raised nearly $60 million from Microsoft Ventures, Northzone, Creandum, Datum Invest AS and Eilert Hanoa, the company’s chairman, according to Crunchbase.
Last month, Kahoot announced that it was launching its first-ever premium product for schools. Kahoot Pro for Schools provides special access to time-saving, collaborative features for $12 per teacher per year.
