Edtech Investors Want to Accelerate PreK-12 Science Curriculum

Dec 10, 2018

ACCELE-RAISE: Accelerate Learning, which creates science curriculum for grades spanning PreK-12, has received an investment from The Carlyle Group and Quad Partners, making Carlyle the majority owner of the company. Accelerate Learning’s early investors, Owl Ventures and Rice Management Company, will remain investors, according to a press release. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Based in Houston, Texas and New York City, Accelerate Learning claims that its science curriculum, STEMscopes, is the most widely used in Texas for PreK-12, and nearly 200,000 teachers use the materials nationally. The company was founded out of Rice University in 2013. Previously, Accelerate Learning raised $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Owl Ventures.
