WHODUNIT? Hoonuit, a Minneapolis-based developer of data management and analytics software used by educational institutions, has acquired Mizuni, which provides data integration, visualization and warehousing services for K-12 districts. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Since its start in 2004, Mizuni has provided data management software to school districts, with a footprint among those in Texas and Oklahoma. Its staff will join Hoonuit as a result of the deal (but Mizuni continue operating from its Texas office).
Hoonuit’s tools aims to surface data that can help school leaders make informed decisions around school policies, instructional practices, and when students may require additional support. The combined companies claim they will serve more than 13 million students across 1,500 education agencies, according to the press release.
