PRETTY IN PINCUS: Gaosi Education, a Beijing-based tutoring services provider, has raised $140 million in a Series D round led by New York private equity firm Warburg Pincus.
Gaosi plans to use the money toward product research and development, according to Caixin. The company has raised around $320 million including past rounds.
Founded in 2009, Gaosi operates more than 50 teaching centers, according to a translated version of its website. Gaosi claims it has served over 5,000 educational partners in 500 cities and over 1.4 million students.
Previous Warburg Pincus investments in education include Yuanfudao, DaDa, Civitas Learning, Zhangmen, Apex Learning.
