Wiley, an education publisher and technology services company, has acquired mthree, a London-based company that provides IT skills training and job placement services. The deal, which closed on January 1, was worth £98 million (approx. US $129 million).
Founded in 2010, mthree offers an 8-week training program for different technical specializations, then places students in companies for up to 24 months. After that period, the client decides whether or not to hire the person as a full-time employee.
The company says it operates in 20 cities across four continents, and expects to generate more than $50 million in revenue for 2019, according to a statement Monday. It has trained and placed IT staff for work in government agencies, technology companies and financial institutions, including Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley.
Wiley will bring mthree into its Education Services portfolio, which includes Wiley’s online program management services that works with colleges and universities to create and market their online offerings. Last year, Wiley acquired two digital courseware companies: Knewton and Zyante.
