CLEVER GROWS: Clever isn't wasting time. Back in the spring, it was an idea rattling around in the heads of co-founders Dan Carroll, Tyler Bosmeny and Rafael Garcia, three former Harvard classmates. Carroll had been a teacher (Teach For America, followed by West Denver Prep) and saw the need to make it much easier to connect with the student information systems used by schools. The company "launched" in May with four schools; we hear that 1,000 schools are now counting on Clever. On Tuesday it "graduated" from Y Combinator. It's also just hired former TFA'er Matt Pasternack away from Junyo to be VP of business development. Do we smell funding in the air?
