Codecademy $10 million series B

Jun 20, 2012

CODECADEMY: $10 million to New York-based Codecademy in Series B round led by Index Ventures, with Kleiner Perkins, Richard Branson, Yuri Milner, Alexis Ohanian and existing A round investors. The startup promises the "easiest way to learn how to code," and has A-listers like Michael Bloomberg signed up for its ongoing Code Year challenge. Overall a pretty impressive haul for a company enjoying significant traction but has yet to generate revenue, as AllThingsD reports.

Codecademy had previously raised $2.5 million in October 2011 from a variety of investors including: Union Square Ventures, Thrive Capital, SV Angel, CrunchFund, O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures, Bowery Capital and YCombinator, bringing its venture funding to $12.5 million.
