Education Elements: $6 million to Palo Alto-based Anthony Kim and his Education Elements team, which is on a roll! This A round was led by Harmony Partners (which has no other edtech firms in its portfolio). Joining in was Rethink Education (which includes experienced educational technology investors firm, Seavest Capital Partners, Jonathan Sackler and social investor, Matthew Greenfield and Brian Olson) and individual investor, Eff Martin of Anthos Capital. Previous investors--Tugboat Ventures, NewSchools Venture Fund and Wally Hawley--also anted up. It's no surprise to hear that EdElements will open a Washington DC office, given that many of the new investors are based on the east coast. EdElements' team has mushroomed from 10 people six months ago to 45 strong; Anthony is continuing to develop his Hybrid Learning Management System, which enables schools to mix and match learning applications under a unified data dashboard.
Editor's postscript: When all was said and done, Education Elements raised $6.4 million in this round.
