HILT: Earlier this month Harvard University hosted the inaugural symposium for HILT (Harvard Initiative on Learning and Teaching), featuring the likes of Clayton Christensen and Cathy Davidson. HILT launched last year thanks to a $40 million grant from two Harvard alumni. A "presidential initiative to catalyze innovation in higher education," its agenda includes a grants program (for Harvard folks only, sorry) for research and development of pedagogical innovations. 255 proposals requesting a total of $9.96 million are currently being reviewed. We'll keep an eye out.
