MATH STUDY: The Institute of Education Sciences at the Department of Ed has awarded $3.5 million to SRI International, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), and the University of Maine to look at how students learn via online math tutoring systems. The four-year study will look specifically at seventh-grade math students and teachers in over fifty schools in Maine, using WPI's ASSISTments, a free tutoring and assessment platform that hosts a repository of math content.
