COMMON CORE SCIENCE: If you're building an edtech product that involves teaching science, you may want to follow this: Next Generation Science Standards, a collaborative effort to develop Common Core standards for science education. Twenty states--including California and New York--are leading the effort. It builds on a framework released in July by the National Research Council. Drafts of the standards will come up for at least two public comment sessions. The project is expected to be finished by 2012. More details on the project is here.
