NOT YOUR TYPICAL MOBILE BUSINESS: Sometimes the most entrepreneurial of solutions has nothing to do with technology. Take a look at Vernon Alcoser's mobile storage truck, which serves a rather niche market--safeguarding students' mobile devices--thanks to the NYC Department of Education's ban on the use of personal gadgets in schools. His trucks--backed by a $2 million insurance policy--reportedly receive 500 to 700 gadgets each day, at $1 a pop ($1.50 for two!). Business must be good as copycat services are starting to show up.
