BYOT: From teacher/blogger Adam Bellows at EduTecher: The gadgets students bring today to school often rival the antiquated offerings that the school can provide. Sure, educators and administrators have to stare down a lot of new challenges as students start to BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) to class. But even a plain old cell phone is handy. Polling services, such as Poll Everywhere and Text The Mob are the beginning. Google has a pack of SMS text messaging applications. Students can message ChaCha to find quickie answers (and a nose full of gossip). Hand a student an iPod Touch or any web-enabled app device (Android devices, iPhones, iPads, etc.) and the possibilities are endless.
