RED ALERT: "America's failure to educate is affecting its national security," according to a new report from the Council on Foreign Relations, "U.S. Education Reform and National Security," co-chaired by Joel Klein and Condoleeza Rice. The report raises concerns such as economic competitiveness, intellectual property, social cohesion, and literally, our physical safety. Despite the sensationalist rhetoric, we applaud some of the report's recommendation, like school choice and emphasis on liberal arts and foreign languages. For those short on time, EducationNext has an interview with Klein and Rice.
