BLASTING OFF TO THE FUTURE: Rockets are flying everywhere in the edtech scene. There's Rocketship Education, the charter school org heralded as a pioneer of the blended classroom model for elementary grades. Then there's Rocket21, a social network focused on developing career literacy for teens by connecting them with professionals in fields as diverse as NASA and the NFL. (It's latest wacky contest includes hanging out with wildlife experts and scientists on Ted Turner's Montana ranch.) And just last week, stealthy startup Kuato Studios unveiled its new web project, RocketList, to inspire young people to "create the future" with a series of videos and resources geared toward developing creativity and real-world skills. Be sure not to miss the interviews with hungry young entrepreneurs like Thiel 20 Under 20 Fellow James Proud and edtech API wiz Franklyn Chien, co-founder of LearnSprout.
